Strategic Plan 2026-2031

In 2025, SMPDC began the process of developing a Strategic Plan to guide the organization over the next five years. This is the first strategic planning effort in recent decades, and comes at an exciting time of change and evolution for the organization. The process began with a membership survey, to better understand the municipal perspective on SMPDC's programs and services, and the needs of our member communities. The results informed several discussions with the Executive Committee and staff to determine a set of Goals, Objectives and Strategies for moving forward. 

The plan is currently in draft form, and will be voted on by the General Assembly at the 2026 Annual Meeting. If you have questions, or would like to learn more, reach out.
