Model Ordinance Language for Stormwater Management: Low Impact Development

SMPDC partnered with Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District and Integrated Environmental Engineering, Inc. to develop a model ordinance for low impact development (LID) to assist communities protect water quality, integrate climate resilience into stormwater management, and comply with the new 2022 MS4 permit.

The project team worked with a panel of technical experts and an ordinance committee of staff from MS4 communities to develop the model LID ordinance and an associated technical white paper summarizing LID strategies and performance standards that served as the basis for the model ordinance language.
